Portobello Book Festival

So thrilled to have joined Man Booker shortlisted author, Graeme Macrae Burnet at Portobello Book Festival on Saturday 8 October.

The title of our session was, Messing with the Mind and there was certainly plenty of fun to be had in delving into the psychology of our characters and the things they do, while also discussing the act of writing itself.

The sold out event took place at the local library in Portobello, Edinburgh and was free. We were very handsomely chaired by another local author, Grahame Howard and there was a really delightful, attentive audience. I enjoyed the chance to meet some of them and sign books at the end.

The slogan for the festival is ‘local but not parochial’ and it was certainly anything but the latter. A great chance to share a platform with another wonderful Scottish author and to take part in a fantastic communal event.
