Books from Scotland – Introduction to Solomon Farthing

While we are all in lockdown, Books from Scotland were kind enough to ask me to record a wee video about The Inheritance of Solomon Farthing.

Here it is, with me standing (and sitting) in the Pirates Graveyard in Cromarty, North East Scotland where I found myself when lockdown came.

There’s a wee introduction to the book, then some readings from the prologue, Edinburgh 2016 and my soldiers in 1918. Also some crows and some geese flying overhead.

I finish with answers to some of the questions in the Proust Questionnaire. What is your idea of perfect happiness…?
