Scotsman Article

Here’s a great article about, The Other Mrs Walker from the Scotsman.

I love the way it combines a news angle about the books acquisition with some of the social issues the book touches on around what happens if someone dies alone.

The piece featured in Scotland on Sunday on Sunday 24 January, 2016 with the headline, ‘Novel about the loneliest death attracts crowd of publishers’. This included some fabulous quotes from the Rev. Alex McAspurren of North Leith Parish.

He may not know it, by the Rev. McAspurren was the inspiration behind my indigent funeral rota in the novel.

A shorter version of the piece also featured in the Edinburgh Evening News on Monday 25 January, 2016 under the headline, ‘4 publishers vie for debut novel’. This includes comments from charity, Age Scotland about the importance of dealing with social isolation – as simple as knocking on the neighbours door and offering a cup of tea.
