Wordplay Festival, Shetland

Very excited to be heading to Shetland this weekend to take part in the Wordplay Festival.

Wordplay is the UK’s most northerly literary festival and it is celebrating twenty years this autumn.

This year it features a range of in-person and online events including poets Jen Hadfield and Christine de Luca, non-fiction writers Cal Flynn and Gavin Francis, and memoirist and novelist Damian Barr.

I’ll be joining in the fun with an event about my new novel, Emily Noble’s Disgrace on Saturday 18 September, chaired by local author Marsali Taylor.

Then on the Sunday I get the pleasure of running a workshop where we will use objects to explore questions of plot, character, setting, time and form.

The full programme is available to browse here.
